All I ever wanted to do was fly.Leave this world and live in the sky… by Randy Foster
I don’t cry. I don’t know if it’s a machismo thing or a genetic disorder. Having said that, I was riding home in my truck after a long day at work. My two girls (rescue dogs) were riding next to me in the front seat. I was listening to a talk show when a song came on. It was Angel Flight by Randy Foster. The first thing I noticed was the girls opened their eyes wide and their ears perked up. My ears perked up as well.
As I listened, the water came rolling down my face. I’m not an emotional guy. I can roll with the punches. But this hit me right in the gut. Please click on and listen to this: highlighted Angel Flight link.
What is an Angel Fight? I didn’t know. It’s when our wonderful men and women in the military fly our fallen heroes home in Airforce C-130’s. Never forget the ultimate sacrifice our men and women give to keep us safe. I know I won’t. The Angel Flight is a beautiful thing. A sad, heroic, beautiful thing. An emotional thing. A terrible and wonderful thing.
I’m no cry baby. But this brought me to my knees. It put everything in perspective.
Do you believe in angels? I sure do.
Between Heaven and Earth, you’re never alone. On the Angel Flight, come on brother I’m taking you home – by Randy Foster.
