Oh, sure, I’ve downed my share of beers. I’m a big fan of Shiner Bark, Saint Arnold Ale Wagger, and Foster. When I was much younger, my friends and I would sneak into the local Stop & Rob to buy beer (we looked older than we were), and we always opted for Foster. It came in what looked like gallon jugs and was pretty tasty. Afterwards, well, we were feelin’ no pain. But enough about errant behavior as a youth. I’ve come to realize that foster means something completely different.
I have found the most amazing people who rescue homeless dogs, some of who are on death row at shelters. They take them in, feed them, clothe them, love them, and then most amazingly, let them go when the time comes and they get adopted to their forever home. It’s truly amazing!
The only real drawback I have ever seen is when some of these fine folks become “Foster Failures.” Of course, they are not failures at all. They simply fall in love with with their foster and keep them. That’s what I call a win – win.
So, have a beer (or two) and please consider fostering a homeless animal. The life you save may be yours. If you go to Dudley’s website, you’ll find resources for many organizations you can foster with. Who knows, maybe you’ll become a Foster Failure!
