Kinky Friedman rescued an injured cat on the side of the road while on the campaign trail as he runs for Ag Commissioner of Texas. Not only is Kinky bright, articulate, and humorous, he also has a heart the size of Texas. Chalk up another rescued animal that didn’t slip through our fingers. Looks like not everything’s been Sold American! Nice job Kinky! If you think that’s great, just check out Kinky’s Utopia Rescue Ranch.
On his way out of the Brownsville Spay And Neuter Clinic on Monday, Texas Ag Commissioner Candidate Kinky Friedman spied a wounded cat trapped on the side of the freeway access road as cars sped past. The cat was severely cut and bleeding from his head. When Kinky and his media liaison, Brian Kanof, were finally able to coax the kitty into Brian’s hands, all the while dodging the continuing flow… of vehicles, the kitty, a male now appropriately named ‘Lucky,’ hugged Brian and began purring. The candidate then took Lucky into the clinic, paid for his immediate treatment and arranged to make sure Lucky is properly placed when recovered from his wounds. Poor Lucky was so hungry when they found him, he actually picked up the open can of cat food with his paws.
Yes, a lucky day for a kitty and a happy one for a candidate, who has long advocated publicly sponsored rescue clinics in all 254 Texas counties. As Kinky departed the clinic a second time, Lucky was resting comfortably and happily.
This story made my day! I shared it with all my Kinky loving family!
Thanks Lucy. Dudley and Kinky apprecilate that.
