This is L.E. My son and I found her in the pipe yard. She was almost dead. We had seen her roaming the streets months earlier but we could never get her to come to us. She was so weak she could barely lift her head up. My son named her Ellie but when he went back to college, I renamed her L.E. I figured she’d never know the difference and our Vet, who we love, is named L.D. Eckermann (initials L.E.). After a week at the Vet, we learned not only was she practically a skeleton when we found her, she had heartworms, hookworms, flatworms, roundworms, tapeworms , fleas, mange, and later found out she was pregnant. L.D. said he had never seen a dog with as many parasites. Sadly, eight precious little puppies had to be aborted to save L.E. and she was dewormed (several times), and went through months of heartworm treatments. Now she’s as healthy as can be and the sweetest, silliest dog you can imagine. Just look at the before and after pictures!
