When life hands you weeds – make flowers. I know, you were expecting me to say when life hands you lemons – make lemonade but dang it, I live in The Texas Hill Country. Plus, I wanted to suck you in with some catchy wordplay. My point is that everyone has a craptastic day at some point. When these beautiful, sweet smelling wild flowers first showed up, they certainly looked like weeds. I wasn’t in a particularly good mood – especially since I was going to have to cut them all down. I decided to wait until the following day because frankly, I’m lazy and contemplate ways to not get any work done. It was aggravating. When I awoke the next morning, lo and behold, the weeds had turned into flowers. Medina was happy. She loves running through the flowers and it makes her a lot better smelling than my other rescue, L.E., who just recently made friends with a skunk.
Listen, when everything seems negative, look on the bright side. There’s always a bright side if you’ll just let it find you. Sure, it may take some time. Just take a moment, smell the flowers, and be thankful for what you have and what you will receive.
